What I Got For Christmas 2012.

Monday, December 31, 2012

Hey Guys! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are ready to celebrate the New Year'. I was extremely lucky this year, and got absolute everything I had written on my Christmas list, plus extra ;). I spent the morning opening presents with my mum, dad and little brother, before heading to my sisters house for bacon barms and chocolate covered strawberries (have I ever told you guys how much I love my sister?!). We then went back to my house to prepare for the Christmas dinner, my momma makes a mean Christmas lunch! My speciality is homemade pigs in blankets and the stuffing (No one makes them as good as I do, it takes skill!). Then my sister, brother-in-law and my two beautiful nieces arrived, ready for more presents and dinner :) After we had finished dinner, and eaten more than our own body weight in food, my boyfriend came round, for MORE presents, and endless amounts of chocolate. I thought I would show you some of the presents I was lucky enough to receive from my family, boyfriend and friends. This is by no means a way to 'brag' or 'show off' what I got. I just love reading this posts, and thought I would write one of my own :) Oh, one word of warning, this post will be very picture heavy.

Now I'm not normally so soppy and 'lovey dovey' on my blog, but today is extra special because..

Me and my wonderful boyfriend have been together FOUR years today! wow, I can't believe how quick the time has gone. It feels like only yesterday, yet..feels like I have been with him forever..if that makes sense :)

We met in December 2008 (I couldn't find a picture from 08' grrr.), at a christmas works do and within about 2 weeks of meeting we we're in a relationship. I was only 16 at the time, and Aaron was only 19, so I didn't expect it to last to long and thought it would be just a little thing. Little did I know, four years later, we would still be here!!

We have had amazing holidays, romantic dates, horrific arguments, slanging matches (so bad that we want to rip each others eyeballs out!). This year has definitely been our toughest year, we have come through so much and I love him more now, than I think I ever have done.

Aaron is; Kind.Childish.Mature.Funny.Annoying.Caring.Messy.Unorganised.Imaginative.Playful.Unexpected.Random

I believe he truely is my other half. He's my best friend and I am so grateful that we have so many memories together, ones that will stay with us forever.

 He is my forever.

Here is to many more years, I know we have to celebrate. Aaron, I love you and thankyou for being everything you are. x

I can't thank you guys enough for helping me to reach this milestone and I appreciate it so much!!

I am running the giveaway until Friday 11th January, and I will announce the winner that same day! I will also email the winner to let them know :)

Hope you guys enjoy :)

Christmas Tag!

Pinned Image

Hey Guys,

I can't believe that it is Christmas next week! Where has the time gone? This year has gone far too quick if you ask me. Only feels like 2 minutes ago, that we were welcoming in 2012, and now we're only a couple of weeks for 2013! CRAZY.

I've noticed a few blogs/youtubes doing a Christmas tag! What better what to celebrate Christmas, than to talk about it.. :)

1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

  • There are so many things that I love about Christmas; The atmosphere, everyones excitement, decorating the tree, spending time with family & friends, eating more than usual 'BECAUSE IT'S CHRISTMAS' (my favourite excuse), watching Christmas movies and wearing big fleecy pj's whilst sat next to the roaring fire! Ohh I get chills just thinking about it :)
2. What is your favourite make up look for the festive period?

  • I tend to stick to my smokey eye look, but use different colours e.g. black & grey, browns and golds or my new favourite at the minute is a combination of my MAC Cranberry eyeshadow, and Sketch! I also love going for a lovely bold lipstick, deep berries and reds.
3. Real tree of fake?

  • When I was younger I would have said real all the way, but a few years ago my mum decided to get a fake tree and I think they are so much more practical and definitely save you money, which is always a winner.
4. Giving or recieving presents?

  • GIVING. I love putting thought into presents, and love seeing peoples expressions when they open things that I have thought, and know that I have put thought into them. Nothing makes me happier than making other people happy. That being said..who doesn't love to recieving presents! I mean really??! Everyone can say oh yeah it's all about giving, but who doesn't love waking up on Christmas morning, knowing they have some presents under the tree with their name on :). Yeah exactly, just what I thought. EVERYONE LOVES IT.
5. Do you open your presents Christmas morning or evening?

  • I open them with my family at about 5 in the morning!! No jokes all round, but trust me I wish my family would wake up at that time. I am like a child on Christmas eve and can't sleep! No matter what I do.. generally just muttering to myself saying 'come on Rachael, you're 20 years old..GET A GRIP' but I know that i'm just lying to my inner child!
6. Handmade cards or bought?

  • I would love to say i'm one of them creative types that can sit and make all my Christmas cards but I really can't. So shop bought cards for everyone!!
7. Favourite Christmas movie?

  • Oh no how do you choose!! I'll narrow it down to my top 5?? Bugger it, it's my tag i'll do what I like mwahahah!
  •  1: The Holiday.
  •  2: The Grinch.
  •  3: Muppets Christmas Carol.
  •  4: Love Actually.
  • 5: Nightmare Before Christmas.
8. Favourite food at Christmas?

  • I love food at Christmas! Especially..Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, roast potatoes and any kind of chocolate dessert, biscuit or sweet :)

I hope you guys enjoyed my little Christmas post and I tag all of you!!! :) Leave me a comment below with your link if you have taken part in the tag, as I would love to read them.

Thursday, December 13, 2012

This morning I recieved my December GlossyBox, and couldn't wait to get it ripped open, and see what lovely treats were inside. I wasn't dissapointed!

Absolutely love the packaging, this month! It came in a matte silver/grey box, and wrapped in its usual tissue paper, but instead of its basic black, it had little stars all over! Packaging is quite important to me, as I tend to like products more and i'm more likely to buy them if the packaging is nice. That may sound quite superficial, haha, but yeah :)

I can't stress how much I appreciate every single one of you and I feel a sense of achievement that my little 6  month ol' blog has gained 100 + people! I still find it shocking that so many people actually listen to my ramblings :)

I'm planning a little giveaway in the new year, but would love to hear what you guys would like up for grabs. Comment below or tweet me :)

So once again..Thankyou and LOTS OF LOVE!

Party Time!!

Tuesday, December 11, 2012
Hello you lovely lot'!

On Saturday it was my works Christmas do, it was a lovely girly affair with lots of cocktails!

It took me, what felt like an age, to find a outfit for the party. Eventually I found a gorgeous black, mid length body con dress from River Island & for only £32, I thought it was quite a bargain!
I teamed it with a pair of killer black heels and only my black Thomas Sabo bracelet, for jewellery. I also used my trusty black clutch bag to hold all of my wordly goods (my phone and money!)

I kept my hair reasonably simple, I just curled it and pinned it to one side :)

Please excuse the awful photo! My trusty outfit photographer, my boyfriend (hehe), wasn't here so I had to try and take it myself! Shock horror, so please ignore the bedroom mess!

I thought I would show you guys what makeup I used to achieve the look, I had on the night.

My Christmas Essentials'

Thursday, December 06, 2012
Hey Guys!

So if you haven't already realised, Christmas is definitely my favourite holiday of the year! I love nothing more than snuggling up on my sofa, with the fire lit and watching a good old christmas movie! I thought I would do a post on all the things that I feel are essential for the month of December, on the run up to the big day :)

1. A new christmas decoration/ornament. This cute little snow globe is the first christmas ornament I have bought this year! I am a sucker for a snow globe and this one was only £1, from Card Factory! BARGAIN.

A good selection of christmas DVD's is essential for christmas time! This is just a small collection of my christmas DVD's, and one that isn't on here, but is my absolute favourite is Muppets Christmas Carol!!! It gets me all tingly and excited for the big guy coming!

A lovely festive lipstick! The shade 'Raspberry Pie' from the Revlon Butter Balms, is a gorgeous autumn/winter colour, perfect for brightening the dreary December days.

New PJ's to wear on Christmas Eve, ready for the morning! I love getting into bed on Christmas Eve night, after having laid out my mince pie, carrot and milk for Santa & Rudolph, and putting my new primark fleecy pjs on.

Do I need to say anymore? Advent calenders is probably my number 1 essential! My momma knew me well, picking out my Disney Princess advent calender. I love chocolate and Disney, so..what else could I have asked for, really?!
