Mexico Week #2

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

This is the second and final part to my Mexico pictures. I really had the most amazing time and can't wait to go back.
Gran Bahia Principe is the best hotel i've stayed in, it's awarded 5* is well deserved. The staff can't do enough for you, the grounds were spotless and the rooms were immaculate. There are also so many trips to choose from, if you don't want to spend everyday in your hotel.
We enjoyed swimming with dolphins, a pub crawl around Playa Del Carmen and a trip to the eco park Xel-Ha.

I would definitely recommend these trips, we had the best time on all three of them.
For those people that have booked to go to Mexico, I am immensely jealous, but I hope you have an amazing time. It won't be long until I go back ;)

In Flight Beauty Essentials

Sunday, July 28, 2013

In July, I traveled to the amazing country of Mexico with Aaron! We've wanted to go for a few years now and decided to treat ourselves to some 5* luxury. We had the most amazing time and really didn't want to come home! *Pictures coming up on Tuesday!*

For those of you who don't know, Mexico is a 10 hour flight from Manchester! I found the thought of this very daunting and really wasn't looking forward to it, however I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The time flew by, there were so many films to choose from and the staff came around with snacks and drinks throughout the whole flight.

One day whilst watching YouTube videos (as I do everyday) I decided to see if there were any tips for long haul flights, which is where I stumbled across this amazing video by the gorgeous Lisa Elridge. Explaining her beauty regime for long haul flights, was just what I needed! My skin feels pretty crappy after a 3-4 hour flight, so I dreaded to think what a 10 hour flight would feel like. I sat, armed with pen and paper, writing down all her suggestions and going through my large supply of skincare samples to see what I had.

I packed my in-flight beauty products into this clear zip up bag from superdrug, which came with 2 larger sizes, it was the perfect size for all my products and also the right size for flight regulations.

*No liquid product should exceed 100ml!*

On the flight, I was luckily sat next to Aaron, so I didn't get any funny looks whilst pulling my little bag of skincare out mid-flight!

First, I used my Bioderma to take off any make up I had worn to the airport, using a cotton wool pad. I then gave my face a spritz of Caudalie Beauty Elixir, just to freshen my face up, It smells amazing and provides your skin with all kinds of essential oils. I applied a generous helping of Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream all around my eye area, patting it in gently with my ring finger (I did this throughout the flight every 2 hours or so).

The sample of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, was perfect for this flight. It leaves my skin feeling well moisturized and hydrated, I applied this to my face and hands (it's works perfectly as a hand cream).

I kept my lips moisturized with Jason Lips Bee Healthier lip balm, one of my favourites!! I topped this up every hour or so. It smells like After Eight mints' MMMM.

Little Extras:

  • Hand sanitizer.
  • Cotton wool pads.
  • Tissues.
  • Eye Mask (Incase I wanted to go to sleep)
  • Face Wipes.
  • Toothbrush & toothpaste (Who doesn't want fresh breath!)
  • Deodrent (For obvious reasons)

I hope this helped some of you who are travelling and want to treat yourself to a little pamper whilst spending some time in the air. I am going to Rhodes in September, which is about a 4-5 hour flight, and i'll definitely be taking this little kit with me! The perfect excuse for a pamper.

MAC Creme Cup Lipstick | Review

Thursday, July 25, 2013

Hello Lovelies'

I realised a few months ago that I don't really own any nude lipsticks. As much as I love my bold lips, I think a nude lipstick is an essential in a lipstick collection! I treated myself to Creme Cup whilst in Duty Free before my holiday, and it has soon become one of my all time favourite lipsticks!
It is a cremesheen formula, which I love. It glides onto the lips, and leaves them feeling well moisturized. Mac describe this as a blue toned pink which, compared to some of my other pink lipsticks, it appears much more of a warm pink on my lips.

I wear this lipstick when i'm going for a more natural make up look, or if I have done quite a bold eye look, I just give my lips a quick application of this.

It really is the perfect pink/nude shade, great for those girls that are after buying their first lipstick and don't want anything too daring.

The lasting power on this lipstick isn't the best and I have to reapply ever 2-3 hours, but the colour is that gorgeous, I won't hold a grudge :)

Do you have any recommendations for a similar shade?
