Top 5 Lipsticks | Winter Edition

Friday, November 29, 2013

For me, Autumn and Winter is all about the bold lip. In Summer i'm all about pastel, light shades. That changes completely in the colder months. If you see me in Winter, you will find me most likely wearing red or berry shades. I thought i'd give you guys a rundown of my favourite lipsticks to wear in Winter. In no particular order, because I can't decide and it wouldn't be fair to the other lipsticks..

1. YSL Rouge Pur Couture | Pink Fuschialink |

Aside from the gorgeous packaging, I love the colour and formula of this lipstick. The perfect pink/berry colour. It glides onto the lips, leaving them hydrated and looking so kissable, as Aaron says, if that isn't a sign of a good lipstick then what is?! I have a full review here.

2. Revlon Lip Butter | Raspberry Pielink |

The Lip Butters are a favourite lip product for me! The pigmentation is incredible, the formula is incredible and the last power is just.. something else. Raspberry Pie is exactly what it says on lovely raspberry shade.

3. Revlon Lip Butter | Lollipoplink |

I told you that the Lip Butters were one of my favourite lip products ;) Lollipop is a bright fuschia pink with a purple shimmer and blue undertones. What I love about the Lip Butters is that they apply like a balm, but last look like a lipstick. The lasting power of these isn't great, lasting only about 3-4 hours before reapplying, but I think I can let that go, as the colour pay off and formula is so good.

4. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick | Glam Plum Fulhamlink |

I think this is my favourite lipstick at the moment! A gorgeous deep berry/purple lipstick, very vampy-esque. I love to wear this with minimum makeup and lashings of mascara. I'll definitely be wearing this throughout the Christmas period. Christmas parties especially.

5. MAC Lipstick | Please Melink |

I know I saw winter was all about the bold lip, but this has definitely been one of my most worn lipsticks the past few weeks. 'Please Me' has to be one of my favourite MAC lipsticks. A lovely rose-tinted pink shade, with a matte formula. As it is matte, it tends to show imperfections on the lips, so make sure you do some lip prepping. exfoliate and apply lip balm before applying this and it is a dream! As it is a pale lipstick, the lasting power isn't the best but the colour is just so damn good, i'll let it slide ;)

I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my 'Top 5 Lipsticks | Winter Edition'. I'd love to know your favourite Winter lipsticks!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick | Glam Plum Fulham

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

MAC Rebel dupe anyone?!!

I had been after a good vampy-esque lipstick for some time, but wasn't sure that they would suit my pale skin tone. Until I picked this little bad boy up, on a complete whim.

Rimmel are one of my go to drugstore brands, when it comes to lip products, they never disappoint. They have repackaged and added new bolder shades to their Moisture Renew line.
Glam Plum Fulham | link |  is a deep berry/purple toned lipstick, perfect for the winter months, the pigmentation of these lipsticks is incredible. Especially the new bolder colours. They apply quite sheer but can be built up, for the perfect bold lip.

One of my main concerns with bold lipsticks, is the colour running, which doesn't happen at all with this lipstick line! They feel so moisturising on the lip, leaving my lips soft and hydrated. The lasting power is also really good, it lasted about 6 hours (with eating and drinking) before needing to be reapplied.

For £6.49, I think they are an incredible bargain and i'll definitely be heading back into Boots to pick up some of the other shades from this range. Rimmel, you've done it again!

Have you tried any of the Moisture Renew lipsticks? Which is your favourite?

Blogging 101 | Events & Meetups

  In love

I've had a lot of requests for this post via Twitter and emails. Many bloggers that are new to blogging or just haven't had chance to attend a blog meet/event tend to be a little anxious and shy, but there really is no reason to be.

My first piece of advice is to ask via Twitter if any other bloggers are attending, get to know them, so when you arrive at the meet, you'll recognise a few friendly faces. Also meet up with bloggers beforehand! Travel together, or meetup at your destination and travel to the venue together. Send an open invitation via Twitter asking if anyone would like to meet up before, chances are someone will.

From my experience, i've also found it useful to take blogging 'business' cards with you, you can either make your own or have some made properly. You can then hand these out to fellow bloggers or brands! Makes it easier than keep writing out your blog address and twitter name.

Remember, that everyone is in the same situation. There will be at least one other person in the same position as you. Everyone was a 'newbie' at some point and all know how it feels to be attending their first meet up. All the ladies I have met so far at events and meet ups have been so amazingly friendly and supportive.

Don't be afraid to chat to other bloggers, you all have something amazing in common. BLOGGING. I don't know about you, but none of my friends blog, so for the chance to meet up with like minded people, is great. I've attended quite a few meetups and events and i'm yet to feel uncomfortable with anyone I have spoken to.

The more meetups and events you attend, the less nervous you will be. You will probably be horrifically nervous for your first meet, I know I was, but you won't be for your second and by the time you know'll be the life & soul of the party. Like you've been doing it your whole life!

I really hope this helps some of you, and would love to hear your blogging meet/event stories. :)

Overnight Beauty Secrets'

Overnight Beauty

As a woman, we spend countless hours cleaning our faces, doing our makeup, shaving, waxing, trying to do something with our hair. How many hours do you think we spend, on average, a week doing all those things?
What if there were things that could help us get that glowing complexion or soft hair, over night?! Here are my top beauty secrets to save you at least some of those hours.
  • Slathering your feet in your favourite foot cream, and apply cotton socks will have you waking up to lovely, smooth feet. Stick it out throughout the winter and by summer, you'll have beach ready feet.
  • It's best to apply any face products that brighten, leave the skin refreshed and glowing, at night. As the sunlight can actually stop them working to their full potential.
  • Applying a hair serum to your hair before you go to sleep, and the braiding it, will leave you with soft beach waved hair in the morning. Who doesn't want to wake up to hair like that?!
  • I always apply a cuticle cream to my nails before bed, as it give it plenty of time to work it's magic. Slip on cotton gloves and you'll wake up with healthy, hydrated nail beds.
  • Your skin is calm and dry at night which makes it easier for deodorant to penetrate deeply into the sweat glands. Meaning you'll wake up feeling fresh, it will continue to work throughout the next day too!
  • Nothing works better than having 7-9 hours sleep a night, you'll wake up feeling and looking great!
What are your overnight beauty tips? I'd love to know ;)

Soap & Glory Heel Genius | Review

Friday, November 22, 2013

After my beloved Avon foot cream ran out, I knew I wanted to try the Soap & Glory Heel Genius | link | and it definitely lives up-to the name! I apply quite a thick layer of the cream at night (sort of like a face mask) after a shower or bath, and put on some thick socks. I wake up in the morning and my feet feel incredibly soft and any rough skin has disappeared. It doubles up as a renovation for your feet and a foot cream.

The scent isn't too over powering, just fresh and I love the mint green colouring of the cream. It feels really cooling on the feet, which I personally really like.
For £5.50 I think it is a complete bargain, and the product should last a while as you don't need to use too much in one go.

I'm a huge fan of Soap & Glory, what are your favourite products to use?

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR | Pink Gold

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Gel-Cream Eyeshadow | link | have to be one of the most hyped about products of this year. I bought On & On Bronze a few months ago, the perfect bronze gold colour, and couldn't wait to pick up more colours from the range. When I recently headed into Boots I was originally going for the shade Pomegranate, but it was sold out :( But I wasn't willing to walk away empty handed, oh I had a browse of the others and the only one that stood out to me was Pink Gold. A lovely pink, champagne colour.

Although this shade has a slight shimmer running through it, it's nothing too obvious, I love to team it with my MAC eyeshadows Cranberry or Star Violet to create a lovely smokey eye look. Which I will definitely be wearing a lot through the autumn/winter months.

I love the formula of these eye shadows, so creamy and easy to blend. The staying power is really good, i'm not sure about the whole '24HR' thing, as i've never had the need to wear it for 24 hours, but the longest I have wp=orn it for is about 6-7 hours and they're still going strong.
I will definitely be heading back to pick up Pomegranate!

Which shades have you guys tried? Let me know :)

Blogging 101 | Organisation

Monday, November 18, 2013

When I asked on Twitter, if anyone would like to see a blogging 'How To Be Organised' type post, the response was crazy! Everyone finds it hard to balance working, education, home/family life and blogging. It sometimes can feel like everything piles up, and certain aspects of your life start to suffer. I will first start by saying work (if you enjoy your job) and your education should ALWAYS come first and take priority over everything else. Don't risk great grades because you decided to stay up and blog about your favourite lipstick.. i'm sure we've all done it. I also make sure that my house and Aaron don't feel neglected, haha. Blogging is a hobby of mine and as much as I love it, other things in my life take priority. Now, having said that, it's only since i've moved into my own place that i've become a lot more organised with my life and with blogging.

My top blogging organisations tips are:

  • Always, always, always have some sort of writing tool with you. Whether it be good old fashioned pen & paper, notes in your phone or ipad. Whichever is best for you, I tend to use both. You never know when inspiration for a post will hit you, it could be at work or on the train.
  • Take photos in bulk! This is a tip i've only started using recently and it's the best thing to do. If you know what you want to blog about in the next couple of weeks/months, take all the photos in one go, to save you having to take photos every other day. I also edit my photos in bulk, as I find this a pain and want to get it over with.
  • I write my blog posts in depth or note form with the key points, in a notebook. It's so easy just to flick through my notebook and you sometimes find ideas for posts that you had forgotten about!
  • Desk planners are also a great way to organise your posts. You can buy them, print free from the internet or like me, draw your own! Good old pen and paper works just as well.
  • I use tweetdeck to schedule tweets, therefore if you have posts scheduled and don't always get chance to write about it on twitter, you can schedule a tweet ready. I think this is the best thing since sliced bread!!!!
  • I tend to write as many posts at once as I can, scheduling them a couple of weeks in advance, which works a lot better for me. If you get busy one week and don't have chance to blog, you will have them written up ready and won't feel like a bad blogger, for not posting all week.
I hope this post has helped, and given you some ideas on how to organise your blog without it taking over your life :)

Emergency Kit

Saturday, November 16, 2013

So your friends have text you asking to go for after work drinks, and you've been rushing around like a lunatic all day. Your makeup looks a little bit worse for wear, what do you do?!

Here is my emergency, keep in your bag, touch-up kit..

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle | link | instantly adds a lovely glow and glow to your skin. Just what you'll need if your skin is looking a little dull.

Topshop Blush in Flush | link | Keep whichever blush you have on that day, in your kit as it'll make it easier to top it up. Topshop cream blushes are really easy to blend, so all you need is a mirror and a trusty finger.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner | link | If you haven't had time to do a proper eye look in the morning, the Scandal Eyes liners are really good, as they blend really easy and don't drag at all. They have quite a creamy consistency.

YSL Rouge Volupte in Fuschia Pink | link | Throw in whichever lipstick you're loving at the minute. For me it's this lovely pink/berry shade from YSL.

...and there you have it. The essentials on how to look like you haven't just worked a 9 hour shift, looking like complete crap :)

Evening Skincare | Routine

Friday, November 15, 2013

There's nothing more I like in an evening, after a full day at work or after wearing a full face of makeup, than giving my face a good ol' clean. I start by taking off my mascara using Sephora's Waterproof eye Makeup Remover | link | As much as I love my Bioderma and it is my holy grail makeup remover, it can take quite a while to remove the Benefit They're Real mascara. I've found since using the Sephora remover, it takes half as long! It isn't harsh on the eyes, and feels really relaxing. I have a full review on this product here.
I then remove the rest of my makeup using my much loved and extremely hyped about Bioderma. I can't rave about this enough. Everyone and their goldfish knows about this product so I won't bore you, haha. I stocked up on a couple of large bottles whilst in Paris, which will keep me going for a LONG time. | link |

I give my face a deep clean using the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil* | link | I had never used a facial oil, before I was sent this one, and was quite skeptical. I always thought they would make my face really greasy and oily. Which is definitely not the case! It feels really soothing and luxurious when applied onto my face, and leaves it feeling really soft and clean. I apply La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo | link | as a treatment, as i'm having problems with my skin at the minute, meaning pesky spots that won't budge off my chin, and this works wonders. It really helps to calm the spots down and leaves my face feeling so soft. Full review can be found here.

DON'T JUDGE, but up until a couple of months ago, I had never used a moisturiser specifically for night time. When I noticed the Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream | link | on offer in Morrisons for about £3.50, I snapped it up. I didn't understand how it could be much different to a moisturiser for daytime. Tut, such an ammature! It feels much thicker and takes longer to sink into the skin. It doesn't leave my skin with any residue or feeling tacky which I like. I'm really enjoying using this product. For those pain in the ass spots i've been applying my trusty Origins Super Spot Remover | link | I bought this in London a YEAR AGO. Oh my gosh it's gone so quick... anyway, back to what I was talking about.... After a year, and using this product at least once a week, it's still going strong. You really need the tiniest amount and it really works.

What are your nighttime essentials? I'd love to know :)

Morning Skincare | Routine

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Looking back through old posts, I realised, I haven't done a skincare routine post since January! Since then, a lot of things in my routine have changed. I have recently been buying alot more high end products, as they seem to work a lot better for my skin. I also use more products now, more so at night than in the morning.

I start by cleaning my face with my trusty Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser | link | applying one pump into my hand before applying, in circular motions, to my face. I rinse it off using a muslin cloth or face cloth, whichever is in reach. I then tip some Liz Earle Instant Boost Tonic | link | on a cotton pad, and swipe it over my face and down my neck. It smells absolutely amazing and really refreshes me in the morning.

Origins GinZing | link | is the latest addition to my Morning Skincare family, and is by far my favourite part of the routine. I love the gel like formula and the smell is just..ugh..something else. Amazing citrusy, zesty, orangey goodness. You can find my full review of this product here.

After the lovely people at Burt's Bees sent me the Radiance Serum* | link | and Radiance Eye Cream* | link |, they have a firm slot on my morning routine. The Radiance Serum leaves my skin with a healthy, natural glow. I have a full review here. I had never really used an eye cream strictly in my routines, until I received this one. It is really light, and my eyes definitely look and feel more refreshed. Which is exactly what I need in a morning. I have a full review of this lovely, pot of goodness, here.

What are your guys essentials in a morning? Any must-have products?

Boots Haul

Monday, November 11, 2013

I popped into Boots for toothpaste and this happened....

There was a 3 for 2 offer across all the makeup ranges, and I figured it would have been rude not to take advantage of the offer. Nobody likes being rude now do they?! ;)

I absolutely love the BLANX White Shock toothpaste | link |, and since receiving it in a event goodie bag back in March/April, I was always repurchase it. It really does help whiten and brighten my teeth. I already had the LED light, so all I needed to buy was the refill toothpaste. I would definitely recommend the LED light as it helps to activate the Actilux in the paste. You can also use the light as a whitening treatment by holding it over your teeth for a couple of minutes. I already own one of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR, in On & On Bronze | link |, and I love it. The formula, colour, lasting power is just amazing, so when I noticed the 3-for-2 offer on, I headed straight to the Maybelline counter and started swatching the Color Tattoo's. I fell in love with the shade Pink-Gold | link | it's a lovely pink champagne colour with slight gold shimmer in it. Nothing to obvious but lovely and subtle.

I've heard so many bloggers raving about the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Nude | link |, and I finally picked it up. I'm planning on wearing this on one of those 'no makeup, makeup days'. My favourite kind of day. I love my berry and red lipstick shades, but one colour I felt my lipstick range was lacking, was a deep vampy purple shade. I found the perfect one in Rimmel's Moisture Renew, shade Glam Plum Fulham. | link | It is definitely going to be my go-to shade for Autumn/Winter.

In Summer I love nothing more than a foundation that leaves my skin looking dewy and radiant, I fell in love with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Bourjois Healthy Mix, because of their illuminating qualities. However, in the colder months they just don't cut it. I'm not a fan of matte foundations, so I picked up the Rimmel Match Perfection | link | foundation after hearing great things from other bloggers/vloggers. It gives a satin-like finish which i'm loving.

On the skincare front, I picked up the Soap & Glory Heel Genius | link | after running out of my beloved Avon foot cream. I'm a huge fan of Soap & Glory products so when I noticed Heel Genius in their range, I popped it into my basket. I have a full review of this coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled ;) Whilst in Paris on the metro, I remember looking at the hand rail and imagining all the germs that could be on there, just lurking, waiting for their next victim. Since then..i've become a hand sanitizer nut! My favourite is this one, also from Soap & Glory. It looks so pretty and pink.

Have you been shopping in Boots recently? What did you pick up?

Bedside Beauty.

Saturday, November 09, 2013

Now that we are entering the colder months, torrential rain, thunder & lightening, i'm talking to you, I decided to switch up my bedside table essentials to products more suitable. I love nothing more than getting to bed, and slathering myself in skincare goodness. My products are all hand and lip related as these are my problem areas when it comes to Autumn/Winter.

The Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub | link | has been a favourite of mine some time. It isn't to harsh on my lips, but still manages to leave them feeling amazingly smooth. It also helps that it tastes amazing ;) I then give my lips a good coating of the Bioderma Atoderm Lip Moisturising Stick | link | that I picked up on a whim whilst in Paris, I think it was about 2 euros, seriously cheap for such an amazing product. It leaves my lips feeling moisturised and soft. These two products paired together really help at this time of year as my lips tend to get slightly sore and chapped.

Another reason i'm not a fan of the cold, is the effect it can have on my hands. It leaves them feeling really dry and dull (?) is it possible for my hands to look dull, it's the only word I can use to describe it. I apply a small amount of the Burt's Bees Almond & Milk Hand Cream | link | to the backs of my hands and rub it in, concentrating on my knuckles and in between my fingers. Full review can be found here.
Although throughout the year the skin around my nails tends to rip and I get small cuts, that are bloody painful, it definitely gets worse during the winter. The Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel* | link | has definitely helped with this, which is why it has become a staple in my Bedside Beauty routine. I apply a small amount to each finger, blending in to the skin right around my nail. It leaves a clear coating, but doesn't leave behind any residue.
These products definitely help bedtime feel that little bit more luxurious :)

I'd love to hear what you guys have on your bedside tables!

5 Minute Makeup

Friday, November 08, 2013

You know them mornings, when your alarm goes off and you decide to give yourself an extra 5 minutes, just resting your weary eyes. Next minute you look and you have to be dressed and out the house in 10 minutes?! Yes, this happened to me only last week. Obviously I blamed Aaron because he LET me go back to sleep.

I threw myself out of bed and charged into the bathroom, quickly washing my face and brushing my teeth, whilst trying to dress myself with one hand. Which may sound very easy, but it really isn't.
I'm guessing my body didn't like the shock of being woken up for the second time and thrown around the house trying to find clothing, and face decided to look like something out of a horror film. I'm sure it did this on purpose because I had woken up late. Just my soddin' luck.

I decided, with 5 minutes to spare, that I would throw the bare minimum products onto my face, just to save the people from the outside world having to look at my horrific face.

My go to foundation at the minute is Bourjois Healthy Mix, it blends really easy, which was a saint on a day like this. I used a Real Techniques Face Expert Brush to blend it in. Come on, I may have only had 2 seconds to put foundation on but none-blended in foundation is just a sin!

I then added a small amount of Topshop's Cream Blush in Flush, a lovely pink, coral colour, to my cheeks. Just to stop me looking like a character out of The Walking Dead. Saying this, after rushing around the house like a lunatic, my face probably had enough natural flush. Haha'

Collection concealer came in great to help cover the dark circles under my eyes, you'd think with an extra almost half an hour sleep, the dark circles would have been put to bed, (excuse the pun) but oh-no they were there in all their glory for everyone to see. I dabbed a small amount under each eye and blended in with my finger.

To help wake my eyes up, I added Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR in On & On Bronze to my lids, a gorgeous gold/brown/bronze colour, and a flick of Benefit They're Real Mascara and I was good to go. Well as good as can be with 5 minutes to sort my face out :) I opted out of applying lipstick in fear of looking like the Joker.

Needless to say..I now set my alarm that little bit more early and I think Aaron is too scared to let me go back to sleep after the frustrated shouting at him last time, whilst running around with my toothbrush in one hand and a sock in the other. Oh so glamourous ;)

I'd love to know you're horrendous stories of the dreaded '10 minutes to get ready'. I'm sure i'm not the only one it's happened to and as fellow beauty fanatics, I think I used 5 of those minutes very wisely, haha.

My Autumn & Winter Picks |

Wednesday, November 06, 2013

I thought i'd give you a little peak into what my Autumn & Winter holy grail items are. These are the products that will be seeing me through the next few cold and dreary months ahead.

Lipstick: Particularly reds and berry shades. An absolute must in the colder months. I especially love the red shade from Bourjois Rouge edition and the YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Fuschia (full review here.). They are my go to Autumn/Winter lipsticks.

Eyeshadow: MAC Cranberry & Sketch are the perfect eyeshadows for Autumn/Winter. These two shades in particular are great for creating a berry smokey eye look. They make a lovely change from my usual nude, gold or browns. Such a dare devil when it gets cold ;)

Hands: I don't know about you guys, but I get horrendously dry hands when the weather gets colder. Especially the skin in-between my fingers. The Burt's Bees Almond & Milk Hand Cream has been a complete saviour! It's so thick and creamy, but sinks into your hands really quickly. My hands feel amazingly soft and smooth, without being greasy. I just love it.

Skin: The past few weeks, since the weather changed, my skin has been playing havoc!! My forehead and  my nose, get really dry, even in Summer! So in Winter, it gets a hell of a lot worse. I've had this Elizabeth Arden Hydration Boost Night Mask for quite a while, and it works wonders for dry skin. You leave it on your face for 10 minutes, or however long you like, and after washing it off your skin feels plump, hydrated and smooth as a baby's bum. (I really don't like that saying, but I couldn't think of another way to describe just how soft it makes your face feel).

Hair: My hair is always quite dry, as it's thick and curly, so anything that gives it that little bit of extra moisture and nourishment is a winner in my eyes! The Aussie 3 Minute Miracle has been a firm favourite of mine for leaving my hair silky, soft and smooth.

I'd love to know what your guys Autumn and Winter picks are! Let me know :)

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

Monday, November 04, 2013

Whilst attending Vogue Fashion Night Out in Manchester a few weeks ago, whilst in Harvey Nichols, I couldn't help but be drawn to the Jo Malone section of the store. They were sampling their new fragrance and to say it was love at first sniff.. would be an understatement. I walked away, came back, sniffed, walked away again, came back again, and before I knew it, I was picking up a 30ml bottle and putting my card into the card machine. god damn it, don't you just hate it when that happens?!

I did want a big bottle, but I just couldn't part with £78.00, so for a still slightly expensive £39.00, it was mine, and I must say.. I wouldn't hesitate to pay that again. Which I definitely will be doing as soon as i've finished this bottle.

Firstly, the service at Jo Malone was amazing, so helpful and friendly. I also got given a card for a free hand massage, off the staff. I'll definitely be taking advantage of that ;) The packaging is also a huge plus, so simple yet sophisticated. The packaging is actually that lovely, that everytime I use the perfume, I put it back it's little box. Is that normal??

The smell, is just..out of this world, floral yet not too girly, luxurious, flirty and fresh. I absolutely love the smell of peonies, so this perfume is just perfect. I get so many compliments when I wear this, and the smell lasts for hours! When the sales assistant sprayed it on a card for me and I sniffed it a couple of hours later, it was like she'd only just sprayed it. Now that is a huge thing for me with perfumes. I hate those perfumes that you spray and you just can't smell them on you at all. A waste of money.
This perfume however, was completely worth it :)

Sephora Eye Makeup Remover | Review

Saturday, November 02, 2013

When in shit you don't need. Excuse the french but that's the way it is. I picked this up on a complete whim from Sephora when I was in Rhodes, and I pretty much just wanted a Sephora bag. Does anyone else do that? Want to buy something from a shop because of their pretty carrier bags, Selfridges, Liberty's or Victoria Secrets?!! It can't just be me.. surely..

As much as I love my Bioderma, it is my holy grail makeup remover, I felt it took quite a while to remove my eye makeup when wearing Benefit They're Real mascara, maybe i'm just impatient.. well actually I KNOW i'm impatience, but that's not really the minute.

I picked this little gem up for about 3 euros, a bargain, so I wasn't really expecting much. I must say, i'm very pleasantly surprised. In the bottle, the liquid separates into two, blue at the bottom and clear at the top. All you have to do is shake it up and you're on your way. When you're finished with it, it separates itself again.

All I do is tear a large cotton wool pad in two, tip a little bit of the makeup remover on each one, and hold them over my eyes for a couple of seconds. Wipe across my eyes, concentrating on my upper lashes and voila. Job well done!

It doesn't have any harmful nasties in it, so it is great for those with sensitive eyes. I know it won't be as easy to get hold of over here, without spending a fortune, but if you ever go into a Sephora I would definitely recommend you pick this up. There is a bigger bottle for about 7 euros, but I didn't want to pick it up, and it not be worth it. Now I wish I had. When I went to the store in Paris, I couldn't find it :(
So that threw that idea out the window, ah well, guess i'll have to jet off to Rhodes again. Shucks. Such a shame.. ;)

Homemade Tomato Soup | Recipe#4

I love nothing more in the colder months, than good homemade food. Especially soups and stews.
I absolutely love making soup, I feel so domesticated haha. It's so quick and easy, and if you make a big enough batch, they can last you ages. So if you are working late or just having one of those days where you can't be bothered cooking, just heat a portion of soup up on the hob, or microwave and you're good to go!

Today i'm bringing you my recipe for my homemade tomato soup. I got the recipe from a slimming world recipe book, so it's healthy, filling and oh so delicious.

  • 2 cans of chopped. plum tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 1 stick of celery
  • 1 onion
  • salt & pepper to season
  • 450ml of veg. stock
  • salt and pepper to season
  • 1 tablespoon of sweetener

  • Place a large pan on a low-medium heat, sprayed with fry light (1 cal per spray) or a little bit of oil. Cook the onion and celery until they soften.
  • Add the tomatoes, tomato puree, sweetener and vegetable stock. Bring to the boil and cover. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly, before blitzing with a hand blender. Season and stir. Return to the heat until piping hot and serve, garnished with some fresh basil leaves.

Easy as that. It was the first time I had made this soup and it went down a storm in our house, so woohoo.
I hope you guys enjoyed this recipe and i'd love to know if you make it. Better yet, let me know your favourite recipes.
