2016 | The Goals.

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

As amazing as 2015 was, 2016 is the year for positivity. I am determined to spend my time more wisely, do more of the things I love and get my head out my ass.

Household Goals:
I am going to have more of a routine down in the sense of housework, now that may sound stupid and simple, but my anxiety leaves me tired and with no motivation to do anything, to the point where there could be a mountain of clothes or pots that need washing but I just can't gather any motivation to get up and do them. The crazy thing is that I feel less anxious when I am in a tidier, more relaxed environment! I feel like I will be more likely to do the washing, hoovering and polishing if I have a set routine, doing certain household chores on certain days.

Health and Lifestyle:
I started off 2015 by joining Slimming World and whilst I was on it, I was on it good and proper, for the first few months and then eventually I just fell on the SW bus and couldn't get back on. I've fallen back into my unhealthy ways and I hate myself for it. I feel run down all the time and so unhappy with myself. I have some holidays coming up in 2016, one is to Morocco in June for my best friend Lindsay's, sisters hen party and another is to Cyprus in October for my sister's wedding and I really want to feel confident and comfortable.
Although I don't think i'll be going to back to the Slimming World groups, I am going to follow the meal plans and "rules". Cooking fresh meals with fresh ingredients. I'm also planning on drinking a lot more water, i've never been a huge fan but my skin really appreciates me for it!

I've just bought Charlotte Crosby's 3 Minute Belly Blitz DVD and I am planning on doing it 2-3 times a week. I've heard amazing things about it and i'm looking forward to finally getting my lazy ass into shape.

Blogging has been pretty hit and miss again this year. I have months where I feel really inspired and other months, where the thought of blogging literally make me feel sick. I am hoping that 2016 will be the year I manage to blog a few times a week and stick at it. When I am in the blogging zone, I absolutely love it so I am determined to try my best to remember that in 2016.

What posts you can expect from FRC in 2016:
  • My get fit journey.
  • Recipes, including Slimming World friendly.
  • Wedding planning/inspiration.
  • Lifestyle & travel posts.
  • Beauty reviews.
  • Wishlists.
  • Book hauls and reviews.

I'm excited for a new year and I hope you are too! I'd love to know your 2016 goals.

2015 | The Highlights.

Sunday, December 27, 2015

I'm going to start this post by saying, that I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I had a perfect day spent with all my loved ones, enjoying copious amounts of pigs in blankets, chocolate and Bucks Fizz.

I received some incredible presents, I feel so blessed and lucky to have such amazing and generous people in my life.

I can't believe that 2015 is almost over, with only a matter of days left! The years just seem to be going quicker and quicker, the older I get!

Obviously the main highlight of this year has been getting engaged!! I still can't believe it. I've honestly never felt so happy as I did the moment Aaron asked me to be his wife. I have a full post about our engagement and proposal that you can read here.

I also welcomed my third niece, the gorgeous Neala Aobh into the world in the 2nd May, the same day as Princess Charlotte F.Y.I and she is perfect!

I was lucky enough to travel to Bruges this year just before Christmas and it was incredible! I have a full post scheduled to go up on my blog in the new year, all about the amazing city.

Song- It has to be either Black Magic by Little Mix, or Love Yourself by Justin Bieber. Both have completely smashed 2015 with their music and I can't help but love em'! Plus, all the songs off their albums are catchy as hell!

Film- STAR WARS! Hands down the best film i've watched this year. I was brought up watching the series, so as soon as I heard about the latest addition, I couldn't wait to watch it. I was even that dedicated, I went to the midnight screening, and for me that is a huge deal! I'm usually tucked up in bed by 8o'clock. Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 comes in a close second.

Book- As hard as it is to pick just one, I would have to say Carry On by Rainbow Rowell! It's based on the fan fiction written in another one of her books Fangirl. It's the perfect blend of magic, mystery and romance, it was just perfect. BAZ *swoons, insert heart emoji*

Musical- I've watched some amazing shows this year, but if I had to pick a favourite it would be Hairspray! I got the tickets as a present for my birthday in June and I was so excited as i've wanted to watch the show for so long! I can't recommend this show enough, it is incredible.

2015 has been the year for friends and family. I feel like I have finally surrounded myself with the right kind of people. People I believe I should spend my time with, that make me a better person.

This year has been amazing, but I have a feeling 2016 is going to be even better!

Luxury Christmas Gift Guide | For Her | Guest Post

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

My Name is Little Miss Minnie and I am going to share with you my Luxury Christmas Gift Guide. Christmas is fast approaching and if you're like me you haven't started your Christmas shopping or even thought about it. So these are my Top 5 Luxury Christmas presents that would be perfect for anyone who are just starting to get into makeup or makeup addicts.

Firstly Benefit always do the most Gorgeous Christmas presents, from their top selling products to just their pretty unique packaging. Their Pump up the party set is a beautiful little set as it has pretty much everything you need for your Christmas party look. This would be the perfect gift for your teenage daughter who is starting to experiment with makeup. It includes some of their top selling products such as POREfessional, Rollerlash mascara, Benetint and High beam. As well as their Rockature blush and four of their eyeshadows. All for just £29.50 and it comes in the cutest little box.

Secondly is the Ted Baker splendour set, this has been on my Need list since the day I saw it. It comes with six lipsticks and six nail polishes. Personally I wanted it because I loved the look of the lipsticks and I've never tried Ted Baker lipsticks before, I wasn't so excited about the nail polishes as a few of them are not really what I would normally wear. This is still brilliant as you get a selection of colours you could even open the box and split it down so you can use it for multiple gifts or even stocking fillers. It is a little bit on the pricey side but when you think you get 12 products all together for £50 it's about £4.20 each and seeing as though you can't buy them separately (well I haven't seen them) It isn't too bad and the packaging again is really pretty.
So Charlotte Tilbury is most probably on most girls wish lists this Christmas as she has taken the makeup Industry by a storm this year. Pretty much everyone has heard her name, seen her products and if they were lucky used her products and now she has brought out a Christmas range. One of the products I would personally love to try are her Lipsticks. As some of you may know I do love a good lipstick so when I came across her Mini lipstick charms in her Christmas range I thought it was a perfect gift. The 3 lipsticks you get are Penelope Pink, Bitch Perfect and So Marilyn. These are pretty much perfect for anyone's skin tone and a need in everyone's makeup bag. This set is £29, this may seem a little bit expensive but when you think one lipstick is £23 this is perfect so you get to try a few different colours.

I have learnt a few things since I start Blogging and that is pretty much every beauty blogger has one thing in common, They all love Lush. I may be wrong I might not have met a non Lush Lover yet but also every time I walk past a Lush shop it is always busy. Their products are always so pretty and colourful and they do like their glitter. So while I was looking through their gift sets I have to say I fell in love with a few of them. One of my favourites is Their Sweet Christmas set, It is just so pretty and pink and what Girly girl wouldn't love that. It comes with 7 products my favourite has to be the Magic wand. I love the pink star with lots of glitter on it. Although I still don't understand how glitter in a bath works, but I still love the Idea of it and it doesn't put me off using them. This set is £35.50, You don't even need to wrap it up as it is already beautifully gift wrapped and ready to go.

I had to save the best till last. Anyone who has read my blog before will know I am a huge Soap & Glory Fan. I have tried quite a lot of their products and I love their Christmas Gifts. I am however still waiting for Boots to reveal the Soap & Glory set that they will have on offer, and I am very excited about it. But this set is one of the ones I think would make the perfect gift for any teenager, older sister, Daughter, Mum, Mother in law or even your Nana. This is the Soap & Glory It's The Whole She-Bang it comes in a gorgeous cosmetic case so you can keep all your beauty products in or great for travelling. You get 9 products altogether, You get 2 makeup products which are their Thick and fast mascara and Sexy mother pucker in Pink shade rose and shine and the other 7 products are some of their most popular bath and body range including Hand Food and The righteous butter. Again it is on the pricey side at £60 but if you were to buy all these products separately it would be a lot more and you wouldn't get the gorgeous cosmetic case.
I hope this Gift Guide has given you some inspiration and I would love to know what you have on your wish list.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Favourites | Blogmas.

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of year, so I thought i'd share my ultimate festive favourites!

Film: I love Christmas films and would watch them all year if I could! It's impossible for me to pick just one Christmas film so i'll share my top 5. Muppets Christmas Carol (who doesn't LOVE that film), The Polar Express, Elf, Love Actually and Christmas With The Cranks.

Song: Hands down, Fairytale of New York by The Pogues! Everytime I hear that song, it just makes me feel so happy and festive!

Food: All the chocolate in the world! Especially Ferrero Rocher and After Eights. Also pigs in blankets! I could literally sit and eat a full plate of them.

Drink: Bucks Fizz by the gallon! Sod the headache, it's worth it!

Decoration: It used to be my glass Belle decoration from Disneyland Paris, but it is now without a shadow of a doubt, the glass ornament that Aaron used to propose. It is and always will be my most cherished decoration.

I'm most excited about spending time with my family and friends, they are honestly the reason that Christmas is always so special to me.

I'd love to know what your festive favourites are?!

Stocking Fillers Gift Guide | Under £50 | For Her | Guest Post

Luxury Christmas Stocking Fillers: £25-£50

Hello ladies, it's almost time to for Christmas & I am super excited! I can't say that i'm not envious of the women who've already got all of their Christmas shopping out of the way, I will be on the last minute run that's for sure. Lately I've been loving these gift ideas and Christmas themed blog posts, so today I'm covering Luxury Christmas Stocking Fillers, with a price range between £25-50.

Please use this as a guide for Christmas Presents as well! I know that in my household we don't really do stocking fillers because I got slightly fed up with receiving Roses Chocolates out of the tin and fruit, haha! However, I know some people have been looking for stocking fillers, and sometimes - only one or a few nice things can make a lovely stocking filler. I hope you like this guide, let me know what how you've been filling your stocking fillers!

FREDS at Barneys New York Two Tier Tower Chocolate-Covered Pretzels (£26)

Now who doesn't love a bit of Chocolate? Maybe the person receiving this gift loves either: Chocolate, Luxury Chocolate, Barneys or New York - maybe all three? They will sure be able to indulge in their Chocolate Cravings with this Tower of Pretzels. There are eight dark chocolate dipped toffee bars with toasted nuts inside. Just make sure you double check for allergies because these are manufactured in a process containing soy, milk, eggs, coconut and peanut/tree nut ingredients.

NARS Limited Edition Dual-Intensity Blush (£30)

You're going to receive friend/sister/daughter of the year award if your loved one loves her Make-up. This Limited Edition 2015 Holiday Collection from Nars, is an exquisite fantasy fulfilled with two colour blocks, Shimmering Brick Red and a White Gold Highlight, I'm even going to be buying this for myself!

George Real Techniques Deluxe Brush Set (£30)

I haven't heard one female say to me yet that they don't need a new set of brushes. After all, New Year, new start right? Over the Christmas Holidays, any make-up products or appliances will be one of the most perfect stocking fillers for anybody. This is the essential eye starter kit which contains: Multi Task Brush for effortless powder applications, Blush and Bronzer Tapered Foundation Brush, Round head for perfect complexion, angled highlighter brush to add a pop of glow to the cheeks, Base shadow brush for a smooth and flawless foundation base, Fine Liner Brush for precise application for liquid cream eyeliner and to top it off, a glamorous clutch stored for the brushes themselves, or other appliances.

Givenchy Eclats de Nuit Christmas Candle (£34)

Candles have gone through the radar this year, as much as I love Yankee candles, it's so nice to see that people are seeking out more and more brands for different scents. I definitely have eyes on this for ages. This candle lights up the darkness with it's warm and ambery delights. Vanilla, Myrrh and Frankincense delicately intertwine for a sincere captivating fragrance.

MICHAEL Michael Kors 'Candy Stripe' iPhone Case (£26)

So your girl got a new iPhone this year, or maybe you already knew she was receiving one - what a better gift to get somebody for their new iPhone. This gleaming logo plate dials shimmers in Gold. Safe and Stylish for the win.

Lipsy Flat Cross-body Bag (£25)

Cross-body Bags are so ideal for nights out, if you're friend is the dancer and tends to leave her bag lying around or she ends up losing it/misplacing it most of the time, then what a better way to have it on her shoulder. Not to mention, I love the colours on this bag making it an ideal accessory to go with almost any outfit.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Dreamy logo Tablet Book (£34)

A tablet is definitely on my wishlist, and proposing this in a stocking filler will most likely give away a main present, but there's no harm in that right? This Black Dreamy logo Tablet Book Case is super stylish with acute plaque detailing. Another Safe & Stylish accessory FTW!

Lipsy Nail And Make Up Bag (£14)

The Make Up Bag itself will definitely get its use because without a doubt, all makeup products will be transferred into this wonderful new bag. This beautiful glittery cosmetic bag contains real handbag essentials. We're always topping up our lip gloss when we're out, and this process involves the front camera of your phone or a trip to the Ladies. This lipgloss is in a gorgeous shade of Berry Glaze, meaning you will be experiencing yet less trips for you if you're out with them - because this set also contains a compact beauty mirror and a nail polish in the colour of Taupe Shimmer, perfect colours for the Festive Season.

Kate Spade Gold Stripe Thermal Mug (£12)

Whether this lady loves her Coffee or her Iced Tea on the go, she's probably in need of a new swanky mug. This Kate Spade New York Thermal Mug is BPA-, Phthalate, and lead-free construction meaning they can sip and savor safely.

I hope you enjoyed this Stocking Fillers/Gift Guide! Make sure to follow the lovely Sophie on her blog and also on her Twitter @Sophiemwynne

10 Christmas Date Night Ideas | Blogmas

Monday, December 07, 2015

Once a month, myself & Aaron make an effort to have 'date night'. We might go out for a nice meal, or go for a couple of drinks at the local pub. You don't have to spend a fortune to spend some quality time with your other half!

December is such a special month and I find it really romantic! So here a few ideas of what you can do with your loved ones this month, without necessarily breaking the bank.

1. Attend the local Christmas markets! Drink some hot chocolate, or maybe a festive cocktails whilst browsing the gorgeous, festive markets.

2. Movie Marathon: This will obviously be all Christmas films! My choices would be; Elf, Love Actually and Muppets Christmas Carol. Cuddle up on the sofa with your favourite beverages and a good selection of Christmassy treats.

3. Outdoor Skating Rink: I love ice skating, i'm not good at all and end up on me' arse more than anything else, but it's so much fun!

4. Christmas Baking: Aaron & I are a huge fan of sweet treats and he always like it when I do some form of baking, so why not do it together! Maybe make some festive gingerbreads or yummy mince pies!?

5. Build A Blanket Fort: Light up the Christmas tree, turn off all other lights, get your favourite drinks and snacks and lay down in a sea of blankets. Maybe watch your favourite Christmas film or binge-watch a series on Netflix.

6. Watch The Christmas Pantomime: I used to love the pantomime when I was a kid and still do now, at 23! Why not find out what your local pantomime is this December and give it a watch. You'll be booing and hissing along with everyone else before you know it! HE'S BEHIND YOU!

7. Go Sledging: We do this nearly every year, well, the years we get snow here in the North West! We get all wrapped up and spend a couple of hours in the freezing cold. Race each other to the top or climb on the same sledge together and try to stay on the whole way down the hill. A lot harder than it sounds!

8. Decorate The House: This is actually one of my favourite things to do in December with Aaron. We put on our Christmas playlist and get the house kitted out ready for Christmas. If you read my previous post, you'll know that the day we did this, this year, was EXTRA special as we got engaged! *screams with excitement*.

9. Treasure Hunt: Why not create a treasure hunt right from your own home? Leave clues, leading them to little treats and surprises around the house.

10. DO YOU WANNA BUILD A SNOWMAN?! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Again, every year when it snows, Aaron & I go and build a snowman and throw ourselves down to make snow angels. It's our little tradition and we always have so much fun.

What is your favourite thing to do on date night? What would you LOVE to do for your next date? I'd love to know!

The LBD

I love a simple LBD for a party dress - there's nothing better than looking effortless in one of these.
Black is a flattering colour, it's safe. The swing style of this dress is also really flattering (because christmas is the time of indulgence right?) I don't want to be wearing something tight and something that will make me feel uncomfortable!

The White Statement Dress

Team with a red lippy and you're on to a winner, again the dress isn't tight but is still flattering, the skirt at the bottom gives it that bit of extra detail which is really girly and feminine.
White also makes you look tanned, it's winter, we're all pale and popping on this white dress with a red lip will make you feel like a sassy bronzed goddess again!

Trouser Talk

I was never one to cover up for nights out and parties, however I have found a new love for bodysuits. They may be a pain in the bum in terms of practicality, but they look so chic!

I love this cross over bodysuit, it goes with every colour trousers and skirts. Here I teamed it with these black high waisted trousers to make it more jumpsuit like.

The Dare to Bare

This is for all the brave ones, the low plunging neck and short skirt is the definition of glamour. This would be amazing with a tan and big hair for them WOW moments at the Christmas Party.

I love this playsuit and even though it is short, its super flattering as well as the cross over skirt hides your stomach.
Plunge necklines are a great way to make you feel confident and show a bit of flesh.

What kind of outfit is your favourite for the party season??

Thanks for reading my guest post!!

I Said Yes.

Wednesday, December 02, 2015

For my first blog post in December, I had big dreams. It would be Christmas on steroids and the perfect way to kick off *Blog A Lot December* #BALD. Clever huh? Instead, December was kicked off in a way I never expected.

For those of you who don't know, I have been with my partner Aaron for 7 years (almost, our anniversary is on the 22nd December) and we have lived together for 2 of those. We've always talked about marriage and we knew it was something we saw in our future. HOWEVER, what I did not expect was it to happen when it did! I mean, you're not suppose to expect a proposal but I literally had no idea.

We had just finished decorating our house and tree for Christmas and Aaron said.. 'i've made you something' and I was like 'ohh cake!'. I don't know why my instincts when straight to food, but hey, that's just the kind of girl that I am. He said, you stay here (in the living room) one second and i'll show you.
He came back, holding a glass Christmas decoration and said he'd made it for us. It had lots of loose glitter inside and all over the glass bauble it had numbers and words that are special to our relationship. I thought it was really sweet and went to hang it on the tree, however..I noticed more writing on the bottom and as I spun it round to read it, I just glimpsed the word married and think I screeched OH MY GOD! Aaron then got down on one knee, took the decoration off me and opened it up and pulled out a RING from the glitter! I think all I said for solid minute was, oh my god oh my god oh my god! He had a lovely speech and I forgot to say yes at first, forgetting you are actually supposed to answer! He then put the ring on my finger and it fit perfectly.

He has been so sneaky and had the ring for two whole months, hidden away in his bedside table! I can't believe the thought and planning he went to! I am honestly the luckiest girl in the world. It was the perfect setting for a proposal. I never wanted a big public thing, with strangers or even family there. I wanted it to be just us two. Our Christmas tree was in the background with all the fairy lights and it was just perfect.
I had unwashed hair, no makeup on, my jogging bottoms on with a comfy jumper and no bra. I wouldn't have changed it for the world!

We are planning on having a long engagement (at least a couple of years) and are going to enjoy every second of it! The bauble he made now has pride place on our tree and I am going to cherish it forever.

I want to thank you for all your lovely messages on Twitter, it honestly meant so much to us!

I'm so excited to share lots of engagement/wedding themed posts with you, in the future!

Clean & Clear | Budget Skincare.

Friday, November 27, 2015

If you read my haircare post here, you will know that I am a complete slut when it comes to shampoo/conditioner, well it gets even worse. I'm also a skincare slut. Yes, that's right. I'm a double whammy slut. Hey, we can't win em' all.

I've been suffering with my skin for a while now, I don't get blackheads, just those red, angry giant suckers that won't f*** off, I also have an oily chin, which aint' pretty. I ran out of my precious Liz Earle Cleanser which is never a good day, and I needed to pick something asap, so I "nipped" to Boots, who ever nips to Boots? No girl ever, that's who. That's when I noticed these bargain-ess gems!

Clean & Clear Deep Action Oil-Free Cream Wash 150ml // Link // £3.15
Honestly, the best budget face wash i've ever used! I use this every morning and on the evenings when I have a shower. It has a really nice smell and the consistency is lovely, not too thick but still creamy. I use it mainly on my chin, around my nose and forehead and it leaves my skin feeling SO soft. It doesn't dry it out at all and my skin always has a nice, clean & fresh feel.
The packaging is pretty basic, and cheap but what do people want for £3.15, seriously? It does the job!

Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion For Sensitive Skin 200ml // Link // £3.15
I spotted this next to the cleanser and thought it was worth giving a go! This is used to gently cleanse the skin but effectively remove everyday build-up of oil, grease and dirt. As sick as it sounds, I really enjoy after i've taken my makeup off, and I go over my face with this toner and I can see all the crap come off on the cotton pad, it's sickly satisfying. Just me??
One word of warning with this, do NOT put it too close to your eyes, it makes them water like a bitch! However, it makes your face feel funky fresh and so clean. It can also (on my skin anyway) be quite drying. So be sure to follow it up with a moisturiser!
The packaging on this is again, you get what you pay for, it's cheap and does the job. I will tell ya though', the lid can sometimes be a right bugger to open! You need to get your nail right under the lid and pull. I always have a fear of my nail flinging off with the lid..worst case scenario obviously!

I would honestly recommend these products to anyone! They are such good value for money, I can't believe how cheap they are!

What is your current go-to skincare? Have you tried Clean & Clear?

Picture via weheartit.
I don't know about you, but I can find it really hard to come up with blog post ideas, especially around Christmas. There are so many posts I WANT to do, but actually sitting down and doing them is a complete different story. I also tend to do the same posts every year, lacking creativity and I get slightly bored of writing them. This year I decided to plan ahead when it came to Christmas posts and I wrote them all down in my notebook, so I thought i'd share the list & hopefully share some inspiration.

Favourite Thing I've Watched: Doctor Who!!! Aaron & I have started watching the show again, back from when it was revamped with Christopher Eccleston. I started watching the show back in 2005 when it first came back, but stopped after David Tennant left, for obvious reasons. (He's David Tennant! *man crush*) Then a few weeks ago, Aaron decided he wanted to give the show a go, having never watched it before & I was more than happy to oblige. We are currently on season 3 and I am preparing myself for the inevitable, in having to welcome Matt Smith as the Doctor. I'm still not sure how I feel...

Favourite Thing I Have Listened To: Dare I say it..Justin Bieber. Yes i've said it, I am 100% a Belieber! What Do You Mean & Sorry are just..SO good! I literally can't stop listening to them.
I'm also absolutely loving Little Mix, they are definitely my girl crushes at the minute, that's right..all four of them. Their new album Get Weird is perfection, there isn't a single song I don't love. At the minute "I Won't" is my absolute favourite!

Favourite Thing I've Done: November has been an amazing month for me so far, i've done so many incredible things. Aaron & I along with our best friends went into Manchester for Aaron's birthday. We headed to Turtle Bay, an incredible Caribbean restaurant, then to The Alchemist for cocktails. I also went to see Alan Carr live with my Mum & he was hilarious! I am huge fan of his and love everything he does.

I also got my first tattoo which for people who know me, will know how massive that is! Due to my anxiety I am reluctant to try new things, especially things that may hurt or are permanent. I plan to do a post on it & give you a peek at what I got at some point soon!

I am also heading to Bruges next weekend with my Mum for the Christmas Markets and I am so excited!!!! I have lots of blog posts planned and would love any recommendations you may have for me.

Favourite Website: Hands down..Pinterest. I love this website so much! As it is coming up to Christmas I am always on the hunt for creative ideas and home decor inspiration. Pinterest is the first place I go for all of these. You can find my Pinterest here.

Favourite People: As cliche as it sounds, and trust me..it does..the blogging community. I've honestly met/spoke to some amazing girls. They are so supportive and encouraging. I took part in a blogging chat this week & I just realised how lucky I am to be part of such an amazing thing.

Nourishing Hair Care Duo | Herbal Essences.

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

My hair is the bane of my life. When it's long, I want it short. When it's short, I want it long. My hair can never win. Poor hair.

One thing I do like about my hair is the fact that it is in pretty good condition, i've never dyed it and I don't have any split ends! I very, very rarely use heat on my hair and when I do, I use a lot of heat protecting products. I also apply coconut oil & Moroccan oil on a regular basis to keep it in tip-top condition!

The only thing that really bugs me about my hair is the fact that because it is so thick and curly, it can feel really dry and damaged so I am always on the lookout for the perfect hair products.

I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to shampoos & conditioners. I use one, bin it and then move onto the next best thing. I don't tend to stay faithful to one particular brand or type of shampoo, I usually just buy what's on offer, watching the pennies and all that!

However one hair brand that has ALWAYS stood out to me and never lets me down is Herbal Essences. I've used so many of their shampoos and conditioners and have loved ever single one. As I was perusing the hair care aisles of my local supermarket I noticed the new addition to the Herbal Essences family "Nourish Me Butter". I word NOURISH jumped out at me straight away and the bottle threw itself in my basket, along with it's nourishing conditioner.

From the first wash my hair felt softer, smoother and healthier in general, it also helped to detangle my hair, which thanks to the thick curls, can become quite (VERY) knotty. It also smelled incredible, quite creamy with hints of Caramel *YUM*.

I am really loving using this pairing and it doesn't break that bank (400ml is currently £1.75 at Boots.) I don't see the need to spend a fortune on shampoo & conditioner when you can get the exact same results from a brand that you can pick up at the supermarket.

Herbal essences has done it again! I think they may have tamed the haircare slut in me..

Which shampoo/conditioner combo are you currently loving or using at the minute?

Empties #1

Wednesday, November 04, 2015

I think this is the first Empties post I have ever done on FRC! I don't know why, because I use a lot of products! I just never seem to remember to do them, until AFTER i've thrown the packaging away. Typical..

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish | Hot Cloth Cleanser is my ULTIMATE favourite cleanser, it's so gentle and soft on the skin. I use this both morning and night and it leaves my skin feeling and looking amazingly clean and fresh.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub is the most delicious thing created. After Pizza..and Chocolate.. It's the most delicious thing, that you can't eat!! Well I suppose you could, but you'd seriously regret it.
I apply this about 2 times a week, all over my body, focusing mainly on the backs of my arms (I get these annoying little bumpy things) and my legs, especially the tops. This product really defines "A little goes a long way". You need hardly any product to get an amazing result.

Soap & Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter is yet another amazing smelling product from Soap & Glory! They honestly make the best shower/body/bath products ever. After using this, my whole bathroom smells of almond-y/Vanilla-ry goodness. I'd say it definitely isn't a smell for everyone, my Sister & Mum aren't really a fan, but I love it!

Have you used any of these products? If you have, which is your favourite?

Beauty Advent Calendars 2015. by rachael-b92 featuring christmas holiday decor

Christmas is just around the corner (7 weeks on Friday F.Y.I) and now is the time to get planning how you're going to count down to the momentous occasion! There are some cracking advent calendars out at the minute so I thought I would compile a collection of my favourites, from the beauty variety, to suit all budgets These are great for people who aren't a lover of chocolate (these people are crazy!!) or for people who like me, who want the best of both worlds!

Halloween Cupcakes.

Saturday, October 31, 2015

As I stated in my last post (earlier on today) I love Halloween!!
I also love food, particularly cake. Any cake, but mainly cupcakes. I don't really need an excuse to make or eat them, but what better reason than a PAR-TAY!

I got a cute little cupcake case & spider toppers for Asda for £1, that's right ONE WHOLE POUND. Can't beat a good bloody bargain!

Vanilla Cupcakes:

  • 125g Self Raising Flour (sifted)
  • 125g Caster Sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 125g of Soft, Unsalted Butter (I used Stork)
  • 2 Large Free-Range Eggs.
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

Sieve your flour into a large mixing bowl, add the caster sugar, bicarbonate of soda, butter and eggs before whisking on a low speed for about 30 seconds, then a high speed for 1 minute.
Add the milk & vanilla extract before blasting the mixture on a quick speed for 30 seconds.
Spoon into your cupcake cases until they are about 1/3, 3/4 full. Put them in a pre-heated oven of 170 degrees for 22 minutes.
After 22 minutes check them with a cake tester, if the spike comes out clean, it means they are ready. Clever Eh?!!

Let them cool down.

Vanilla Buttercream:

  • 200g Butter, Softened At Room Temperature
  • 450g Icing Sugar, Sifted
  • 2 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • Food Colouring of Your Choice, (I Chose Green)

Add your butter and HALF the caster sugar to a bowl and whisk on a slow speed, gradually adding the other half of the sugar. I learned the hard way that the icing sugar will go EVERYWHERE so be careful. Take your time mixing, the texture should be soft and fluffy.
Add the milk. then whisk again for 2 minutes, starting off at a slow speed before increasing gradually. Add the vanilla extract and more milk if you require. After the mixture is ready, I added a few gradual drops of food colouring until I had the colour I wanted. Don't add too much to fast!

Once my cupcakes were cooled, I put my buttercream into a disposable plastic piping bar, with a 7 point nozzle in the end and started to pipe. Hold your piping bag vertical to your cake, starting in the centre squirt out your mixture, then go around that squirt building up slowly.
I then applied the spider toppers & a selection of Halloween themed sprinkles!

Ta-Da, that's it! My cupcakes may not look professional and that appealing to the eye, but they look the part and taste delicious!

I hope you are all having a amazing Halloween, whatever you are doing!

Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween!!!!

I absolutely LOVE Halloween, almost as much as Christmas but not quite.. I mean come on' Christmas is in a whole league of it's own!!

I love nothing more than completely kitting my house out in everything Halloween-y. Much to Aaron's dismay. I always tell him that means that I will be our children's favourite parent, because i'll be on their wave-length. Duh.

This Halloween we will be hosting a party for my family & friends, and i'm bloody excited. Excuse the pun (bloody, Halloween..get it, ha ha ha, ever the comedian). I've got bunting and balloons coming out my ears, with some fairy lights and 3D bats thrown in for good measure. We picked up all our decorations from a range of supermarkets; Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons had an amazing range this year & were complete bargains! I also ordered the 3D bats & Pumpkin banners off Amazon, which were also cheap & cheerful! You don't need to spend a small fortune to get your house looking party-ready.

What have you done with your Halloween? Do you love decorating your house as much as I do?

Slimming World | An Update #2

Wednesday, October 28, 2015
When you feel like giving up look how far you have come #quote:

I joined Slimming World back in February and it has had, let's just say..it's ups and downs. At the start of the 'diet/lifestyle change' whatever the hell you want to call it, I was so strict and determined. I hardly had anything naughty and I stuck to my meal plans and shopping lists. I really wanted to do well and I know you shouldn't, but I did get a little competitive. It's natural. I wanted to do better every week and I was pretty harsh on myself really.

Then the inevitable happened and I completely lost it, for about 3 weeks I piss arsed about. Eating what I wanted, whenever I wanted. I still went back every week to group and I knew every week that I was going to see the weight creep back on and it did. +1, +3, +2..ect. Until I was pretty much back where I started, except for maybe a lb or 2.
It got to the point where I hated myself. I knew I only had myself to blame, no one forced me to have KFC, pizza and Mcdonalds. I just couldn't stop myself. Once you've fallen off it's so hard to get back into the right frame of mind. I always used to judge people before I started Slimming World, like 'how hard can it be to lose weight and stick it it, god!!'...

It's really bloody hard.
It's like, when you eat something bad, you're mind remembers all the deliciously naughty things you can have and before you know it, you've ordered Pizza Hut online, sat with a bottle of Kopparburg and a Salted Caramel Galaxy bar is on the side waiting for you.. Yes this did actually happen. On more than one occasion. I have no shame....

I managed to get back on it for a week or two..and I was really disappointed. I had really tried and stuck to it and only managed to lose half a lb a week. It gets to the stage where you think, what's the point? You just look at a Mcdonald's and manage to put on 2lb, yet when you really stick to it and be really good..you lose the tiniest amount.. I need to remember that i'm only 23 and stop being so hard on myself! If I want a cocktail, i'll have one. I just need to pull it back throughout the week, save my syns up.

Slimming World is amazing, Aaron couldn't believe the things we can eat! Burgers, pasta, kebabs, ect it's just homemade, using fresh ingredients rather than a takeaway version. It really does work when you stick to it! I'm really determined now to get back into it, i'm sick to death of looking at my body and not liking what I see, comparing myself to everyone on Instagram who's skinnier or has a better bum than me..I do that alot. I am really horrible to myself. If someone else said the things to me, that I think about myself, i'd tell them to go **** themselves, but I find it acceptable for ME to think them about ME? How does that work?

Are any of you on Slimming World? How do you stay motivated.

*Originally wrote this post on another blog of mine that I started, but decided to give FRC another go & I really wanted to share this post.
